Celebrate Learning

We created this newsletter to keep our alums, partners, and anyone interested in learning skills for the future of work updated and connected to our ever-growing family. If you want to read our first issue, you can check it out here.

Caleb Tutty, our Machine Learning Instructor, returns to Eskwelabs as Chief Technology Officer
Caleb is an experienced Data Scientist and an award-winning Data Journalist who hails from New Zealand. We are excited to welcome Caleb back to the Eskwelabs team as our CTO, enabling learners through our learning management system.
A snippet of our interview with Caleb:
Eskwelabs: “Technology has a big role to play in supporting teaching and learning, and the current Covid-19 pandemic has put online learning in the spotlight again. To what extent do you think technology can ‘change the game’ for learning?”
Caleb: “Technology has the ability to measure and personalise learning experiences. We can help provide extension resources for the topics in which students excel and support where some topics may be a little more difficult. With the right platform and analytical tools in place, we can personalise learning playlists to best suit a student’s needs...”

We bond over practicing long marches, sweating in our togas, and smiling wildly after getting our diplomas and shaking the school admin team's hands—what happens now that we can't meet?
Making a virtual graduation just as memorable as an in-person ceremony
This quote from Roman lyric poet Horace could not have been more applicable! 📝
"Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents, which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant." –Horace
It perfectly captures the way the Eskwelabs team has been determined and able to execute this crazy idea of online milestone celebrations in our new normal.
(In photo/screenshot: Page 1 of 2 in Zoom for ASC Cohort 1's graduation picture. Reason for the unique pose? We were trying to "virtually" high-five people on either side of our video cells. 😄)
Here are 4 concepts we'd like to share:
Team Sharing
Accomplishments Slideshow
Student Awards
Graduation Toasts
Analytics SkillsCourse Cohort 1 is the first batch of Eskwelabs students to go through a totally online learning set-up with us, and so they are the first batch to experience a virtual graduation.
