Hello everyone, Mel here! 👋 First of all, how are you? Hope you and your loved ones are all safe and sound, given that the Philippines had recently been hit by a strong typhoon. Whatever your condition right now, we are sending positive and empowering vibes to you. 💪💖
Since we would like to brighten up your weekend, we have some wonderful news that we hope might cheer you up! 🌞 For the past two weeks, Eskwelabs has been achieving milestones which can help you progress through your life and career. Our culture of excellence drives us to continually strive in improving the quality of our data education. That is why, after careful thought and preparation, we have finally launched our newest program that may change the way on-the-job training (OJT) or internships are done in this country. You may read on for more information about how we have incorporated this program into our data upskilling tracks. 💡
Close friends tend to share their victories with each other. That is why we, your friends in the world of data, are also sharing another Eskwelabs triumph. Our Chief Executive Officer and co-founder has received another leadership award from a prestigious international magazine. This award has given her access to a community of like-minded startups and leaders of society, which will help our community grow in quality and stature. You’ll also learn more about this exciting new development.
From our CEO, we turn the spotlight to our alumni who underwent our data upskilling programs. In the succeeding paragraphs, you will hear what these graduates have to say about how Eskwelabs has made them more competent and confident in their careers and personal lives. 🎓

⚡ Launch of the Eskwelabs Industry Apprenticeship
Internships or on-the-job trainings (OJTs) have always been part of college or university studies for quite a while now. They are meant to prepare students for the world of work before they receive their diplomas. To the displeasure of many college students, these OJTs are usually unpaid.
But if you think OJTs in the Philippines will always be this way, think again!
Eskwelabs has just recently launched its own unique take on internships. Called the Eskwelabs Industry Apprenticeship, this program offers on-the-job training that is radically different from many internships in the country.
Eskwelabs learners who participate in the Apprenticeship get paid working on data projects that solve actual problems experienced by startup companies. Working for these cutting-edge and innovative businesses helps the learners gain valuable experience that can make their resume attractive to potential employers.
We don’t leave any learners behind. Our Apprentices are closely guided and supported by mentors. This mentorship component enables our students to succeed while giving our partner startups the best possible data-driven business solutions. It’s a win-win situation for everybody!
The Eskwelabs Industry Apprenticeship will be part of the learning program for the upcoming Cohort 4 of the Data Analytics Bootcamp. The Apprenticeship will also be available in the upcoming batch of the Data Science Fellowship.

⚡ Tatler Asia includes Eskwelabs Chief Executive Officer in its list of socially-impactful leaders
A win for Eskwelabs is a win for you, our learners and other stakeholders. After all, the better our standing in the global community, the more access we have to quality resources and people, which can advance our mission of inclusive data education for the common good.
One of the most significant victories we’ve had recently is the inclusion of our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and co-founder, Ms. Angela Chen, in a prestigious list of Asia’s most groundbreaking leaders. Just this month, Angela has become a part of Tatler Asia’s Gen.T List for 2021. You may check out this link to learn more about why Angela made it to the list.
Tatler Asia is a magazine that celebrates the most influential personalities in society. More than just a list of famous names, the Gen.T List is an actual community of social impact leaders who help each other grow professionally as they pursue the building of a better world.
The Gen.T List has many startup founders in its roster. Therefore, the inclusion of our CEO in the prestigious community of leaders can help her gain valuable insights from other startups. In other words, Angela’s inclusion in the Gen.T List opens up a world of growth opportunities for Eskwelabs, which is itself an edtech startup.
This good news from Tatler Asia, as well as our recent membership in the Analytics Association of the Philippines, are the ways by which we use networking opportunities to help continually improve our data education services and keep Eskwelabs at par with international best practices.

We have always talked about the high quality of our data upskilling tracks, some of which are backed by international recognition. But, for a change, we will let our alumni take the wheel so they can talk to you about how enriched and empowered they have become after studying with us. Some of them enrolled despite the fact that they had jobs to attend to. After all, we do our best to make it easier for employees to upgrade their data skills without resigning from their roles.
