This issue, we're back to rounding up our latest news and milestones! It's actually apt that our return to this familiar format lands on Issue 21, because the start of our 2021 was truly eventful! 📚 Eskwelabs has joined edtech accelerator Eduspaze
EduSpaze, an Enterprise-Singapore backed edutech accelerator, has included Eskwelabs in its second cohort of startups. Seven early-stage edutech companies from Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines (us!) have been selected from over 200 applicants across 30 countries.

We are also happy to announce that Eskwelabs has joined AWS EdStart. We are incredibly grateful to be a new member of the AWS EdStart Accelerator Program and to have access to a variety of resources—training, mentorship, network, and tech services—to level up the learning experiences we currently offer to our students and lifelong learning community.

🎉 Opening the Data Club waitlist!
We're launching a new upskilling experience really soon, and we've finally opened the waitlist to everyone!
The Data Club puts an emphasis on the "LAB" in Eskwelabs. This is a hands-on lab where you can build fun data projects with friends in 2 weeks while being guided by industry experts in data science and analytics.
Come as you are (no background required)
Create cool stuff (like this image recognition algo you see in the graphic—built in just 1 week!)
Connect with others who want to do the same (meet other lifelong learners)

📌 Milestones for our Learners
💖 Cheering for our Data Science Fellowship Fellows!
Data Sprints (also known as project-based learning sprints) make up the core education experience of our 12-week Data Science Fellowship.
A couple of weeks ago, our Cohort 6 Fellows just wrapped up their first data sprint: Cluster Analysis of Schools in the Philippines. They explored data from the Department of Education on public elementary and secondary schools. They were then tasked to group schools according to the provided metrics and create a compelling story that would lead to actionable recommendations.
The second data sprint that they just finished—they gave their presentations yesterday!—happens to be a favorite among Fellows. They focused on Spotify for their Music Playlist Recommendation sprint.

💖 Welcoming our Data Analytics Bootcamp Analysts!
Formerly known as Business Intelligence SkillsCamp (BISC), the newly launched Data Analytics Bootcamp has also incorporated Data Sprints into its 8-week curriculum.
In their first week in the bootcamp, our Cohort 1 Data Analytics Bootcamp Analysts spent their time focusing on exploratory data analysis, data validation, and data cleaning through PowerBI. And just yesterday, they gave their presentations and finished their first sprint: Greenhouse Gas Emissions Analysis.

💖 Celebrating our Analytics SkillsCourse x Project Inclusion Network scholars
The origin story of our Analytics SkillsCourse (ASC) program is tied to the first lockdowns in the Philippines back in March 2020. The pandemic hit people hard, so we took action to help in the most Eskwelabs way we could by providing data skills education to COVID-impacted workers, particularly to virtual assistants and online entrepreneurs. We had 3 Cohorts of ASC learners graduate last year.
In January 2021, we were able to extend the reach of this program by partnering with Project Inclusion Network. Under Unilab Foundation's ENABLE Opportunities Skills Development program, we delivered a customized version of Analytics SkillsCourse to 12 of their scholars.
For 2 weeks, they dove into topics related to Professionalism, Data Communication, and Data Management. We celebrated their completion of the program by hosting a virtual closing ceremony last January 22. Now they're ready to thrive in remote work!
