Hi, Francine here! 👋 Issue 31 is going to be a short issue focused on the latest win we have for the Eskwelabs team! I am writing this newsletter fresh from an all-team meeting, and what I can share is that we are pumped for July 2021 and the remaining months of this year. There are a lot of things going on, but we believe in our team—each team member's mind, heart, and capabilities. We can only hope that you find as much joy and connection in the team that you're on right now, too. ❤️
So we're keeping this issue short and sweet, it's dedicated to all the people in the Eskwelabs team who embody our mission of "democratizing data skills education for the future of work" day in and day out. 💪
Changes big and small seem to be more unpredictable today than ever. And it’s becoming nearly impossible for a business to make plans, especially as we are still emerging out of the pandemic. But I believe there are 2 things that won’t change in the future. The first is people, and the second is the value of an education.

⚡ Winning the HIIGENE Grant
We're one of the three winners of SCPA's first-ever HIIGENE program grant. HIIGENE stands for "Human Investment x Impact Grant for Entrepreneurship and Empowerment."
Sanitary Care Products Asia Incorporated (SCPA), an industry leader and key player in the Philippine market, partnered with the Asian Institute of Management-Dado Banatao Incubator (AIM-DBI) to launch HIIGENE as a social impact accelerator program.
The announcement of the winners was broadcasted live via Facebook Live last June 24, 2021. Members of the Eskwelabs team did a virtual huddle and watched the event unfold in real-time. Cheers and a stream of celebratory GIFs filled our virtual office—we have been working remotely for more than 15 months already since the March 2020 lockdowns in the Philippines.
And so we watched—hearts thankful and also speechless—as Angela Chen, our CEO and Co-Founder, gave her remarks after Eskwelabs was announced as one of the winners.
Angela shared, "Winning this grant will enable us to further invest in our team's learning and development, formalize best practices for remote teams, and offer health and wellness benefits that sustain the team’s impact on learners. We're also looking forward to receiving mentorship from SCPA executives who will help the development of a long-term talent strategy so more passionate and talented people will join our mission to transform skills education."
