E is for Eskwelabs Issue 047 - It Takes Time to Change the World, Start Now ๐๐ช
In our forty-seventh issue, we acknowledge the importance of saying โIโll make the timeโ for the events and projects that will make a social impact.
We created this newsletter to keep our alums, partners, and anyone interested in learning skills for the future of work updated and connected to our ever-growing family. If you want to read our previous issues, you can check them out here.

๐ฅ๏ธ Cheering for our Cohort 8 Fellowsโ Demo Dayย
Thank you to all who attended our Data Science Fellowship Demo Day Showcase last March 4, 2022! Our Fellows have grown and given so much during their 12-week bootcamp experience. Their capstone projects showcase both their potential as leaders in the data industry and their grit as learners. ๐
We hope that this Cohortโs Demo Day inspired bootcamp applicants, encouraged organizations to recognize data's potential, and deepened the desire of enthusiasts to explore the world of data even further. ๐
You can watch all the presentations below:
๐๏ธ See how machine learning can predict which online goods are real or fake
๐ Imagine a world beyond our own with an interactive dashboard that detects exoplanets
๐ฅ Get excited by your healthy eating options thanks to a meal recommender engine
๐ Marvel at how a product category recommender engine makes Request for Quotations (RFQs) work a breeze
A big thank you as well to our event panellists who tested the preparedness and expertise of our Fellows during the live Q&A: Eric Tria (Business Technologies Lead of Shopee Philippines), Ervin Lu (Business Technologies Professional at Shopee), Serafin Meneses (Division Chief at the Philippine Space Agency), and Ken Libranza (Customer Experience Manager for Chowking Philippines).ย
Our very own Caleb Tutty (Eskwelabs CTO and Co-Founder) and Albert โBashโ Yumol (Eskwelabs Data Science instructor) also served as panellists.

๐ฑ Professional Development Corner
Weโve been sharing a lot of calendar announcements for the past 2 weeks (here and in our social media!) for both the Data Science Fellowship and Data Analytics Bootcamp, so weโd like to share some time management tips that can empower you to make space in your planners for the events that can change the course of your future.ย
24 hours, every single day, is an incredible gift. We can face this fact either with a time abundant or a time scarce mindset. โณ
Vocalize a mindset shift - โI donโt have time.โ โ โI will make time!โ
Plan, plan, plan - Dedicate a moment at the beginning of each week to write down your tasks and the time allotted for each one.
Conduct a weekly review - Sit down at the end of your week to check if the time youโve allotted for tasks are accurate or poor estimates. Adjust accordingly for next week.
Batch similar tasks - Group together tasks with the same context (creative, admin, planning, etc.) to make use of your allotted time efficiently.
Understand your energy levels - Acknowledge how your body works and use that information to plot batched tasks in your calendar.
Get inspired - Watch and listen to people from all walks of life and take notes on their time management practices. Apply in your life as you see fit.
Know your why - Remembering your source of motivation will keep your inner fire burning, whether youโre in a good or rough season in life.
Thatโs it for our forty-seventh issue of the newsletter! Thanks for reading! โค๏ธ
Have something to share? We encourage you to give us feedback and ideas (you may do so here) and if you like it, please share it with a friend!
Have a good Monday! See you again in your inbox next, next week!
๐ Cheering you on always,
Francine
