E is for Eskwelabs Issue 051 - Political Climate: Future You in the Future of Work 🇵🇭
In our fifty-first issue, we introduce a new format for E is for Eskwelabs that’s themed to fit the Philippines’ current events. Think of this as our call-to-action issue.
We created this newsletter to keep our alums, partners, and anyone interested in learning skills for the future of work updated and connected to our ever-growing family. If you want to read our previous issues, you can check them out here.
6 years from now…
What will your future self have accomplished for:
Yourself?
Your family?
Your community?
Your country?
Hi everyone, it’s Francine and the whole Eskwleabs team here! 👋 We mentioned in Issue 50 that we would be experimenting with new formats for Issue 51 and onwards. Here’s our first attempt and its release is timely with the Philippines’ current events. In a world of overload and abounding resources, how do we separate fact from fiction? How do we verify data? Why is it crucial to do research? What does it mean to be data literate? Why must every citizen become data literate? So many questions! Author Zora Neale Hurston famously wrote, “There are years that ask questions and years that answer.” We’ll keep this opening letter short, as we hope that the answers to the questions above will reveal themselves to you throughout this mini issue.

We’ve unearthed just a few of the many capstone projects done by our Data Science Fellowship students from Cohorts 1 to 8. Capstone projects are the final output produced in the 12-week Data Science Fellowship by the Fellows. It is the culmination of all that they've learned and worked hard for during the Fellowship. The counterpart of this in the Data Analytics Bootcamp is the Company Business Review.
Right now we’re cheering on our Cohort 9 Fellows who have started classes this May 16! At the end of this newsletter we’ll be sharing Admissions info for those who’d like to be part of this legacy of using data for good. Cohort 10 is open for enrollment!
