🙇🏼 The productivity of celebrating yourself
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Michael Buble
If you’re like me and do year-end evaluations not only for work but also for yourself, then you might be having an existential crisis this holiday season too! 😵💫 Thinking about my learning journey so far and what it will look like in 2023 had me asking questions: Will I still be passionate about the things I care about now? Am I capable of the greatness I see in others, or has my potential already peaked? What will my life look like after some years? Am I capable of making an impact? 💥
Viktor Frankl says that man’s major motivating factor in life is the search for meaning. 🔍 He refers to suffering in pursuit of meaning as existential frustration. 😖 We get frustrated when we fix our minds on a super specific goal that is believed to be achieved by an established set of skills in a definite timeline. 📦 Having an existential crisis isn’t counterproductive, but having a fixed mindset is. 🧠 So, dear Eskweloves, this month I’m encouraging you to productively celebrate YOURSELF. 💗 Congratulate yourself for making it this far and let go of your worries and self-doubt. ✨ Be in touch with your WHY and trust that everything you’ve gone through is a step forward in your journey as a learner.
As classes and work are coming to an end this season, here are some things you can do this break to celebrate yourself:
Treat yourself! 🍦 Connect with your inner child, what’s one thing you yearned for as a child but never got?
Release some endorphins!🔋Go for a walk. Do some yoga. Try wall-climbing activities.
Binge and chill. 💻 The availability of streaming services such as Netflix and Disney+ call for a cozy night in!
Eat your fruits and vegetables. 🏋️ The time off work is a perfect opportunity to discover healthy food that suits your taste.
This practice of thanking and celebrating ourselves is not fixed only during the holidays. With our why in our hearts, nurture your growth mindset, and celebrate every feat of your learning journey. 🙌
🏋️ Celebrating opportunities through challenges
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! By Frank Sinatra, B. Swanson Quartet
I know being nice to yourself and setting realistic goals can be challenging in itself, but once we find our groove, it’s time to step out of our comfort zones. 🚧 The purpose of challenging ourselves is that it opens opportunities for guidance and collaboration with what we seek to accomplish. 🤝 At Eskwelabs, we celebrate the challenge our bootcamps bring by offering our learners career support and industry apprenticeship.
Here’s how we give you an extra push after graduation!
📘 Resume book - We send your resume to our network of company partners.
📙 Program certificate - We provide you with a certificate to show off on LinkedIn.
📕 Technical coaching - We prepare you for your interviews.
📗 Fireside chats - We invite industry professionals to share wisdom from their career.
📒 Job Interview guarantee - Enjoy guaranteed first interviews with our company partners.
But wait, there’s more! 😮 Our Industry Apprenticeship is an opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in your 9-week bootcamp through paid work with our company partners! 💼 Cohort 7 showed their expertise as they did their apprenticeship with Eplayment and Luxx Ventures, while Cohort 8 showed theirs with Pieza PH. 👏 We hope these features convince you WHY you can rely on our bootcamp to assist you in your learning journey!
Give yourself more reason to celebrate the year ahead and join our community of purposeful learners! The Data Analytics Bootcamp Cohort 9 begins this January 30, 2023.

🎊 Data-driven tips to prepare for the holidays
A Holly Jolly Christmas by Burl Ives
At this point, you’ve gotten in touch with your why and stepped out of your comfort zone! All that’s left is to CELEBRATE! 🥂 Be festive, let loose and be merry in the presence of your loved ones. 💌 To help you, here’s how you can use data to plan your festivities. 📋
✍️ Set your goals. What do you want to achieve this season? Do you want to host parties? Do you want to lead donation drives? Or are you taking advantage of the time off work and to go on a trip?
💰 Set your budget. We all know how tempting it is to spend this Christmas, so it’s important to manage your finances beforehand. Make sure to maximize tools such as Google Sheets in doing so!
🧑🤝🧑 Gather data on people you’re giving presents to. Now we now why Santa makes a list and checks it twice—it can be stressful to keep track of who to give presents to and what they prefer. Trackers can be used to categorize people, by your affiliation with them, and presents, by what kind they are. This kind of organization will help you be on top of things!
🛒 Shop strategically. Whether it be grocery shopping or present shopping, planning where to go, at what day and time, would save you so much time (especially if you’re in the Philippines!) Before you do this, make sure you have your list with you!
These practices get better with experience, over time. 👍 There will be bumps along the way and exhaustion should be expected, 😩 but, in these moments we remember WHY we’re celebrating in the first place. 😌 So, dear Eskweloves, consider making the most of the merry season as part of your learner journey!

I’ll Be Home for Christmas by Carpenters
If you haven’t heard it yet, Eskwelabs will be on Admissions Shutdown from December 17 to January 2! ⏸️ Hold on to your questions about our programs, we’ll gladly answer them once we get back in 2023. 👩🏫
It has been such a wonderful year of learning and working with data! 📚 I joined the team later this year but it was obvious how meaningful the relationship is between Eskwelabs and its community. 🤗 None of this would be possible if we weren’t guided by our purpose—to democratize data education. ✅ We’d like to thank everyone who was part of a memorable year!
👨🎓 Thank you to our learners, from learning sprints to bootcamps and our FHMoms partners! We’ve learned so much from you—we’re proud of you!
👨🏫 Thank you to our mentors and instructors. Your expertise and dedication to data education are phenomenal!
👨💼 Thank you to our partner companies and institutions. We’re lucky to exist in a space with people who are as passionate as we are about learning.
🌳 Last but not least, thank you to the whole Eskwelabs team! The year has been more productive than ever and we’ve worked hard to get to where we are now. Each and every effort exerted for our programs is an effort exerted for accessible data education. Thank you!
The team had their in-person Christmas party last December 8! Lunch was followed by a very engaging baking session at Bakebe. Here’s to more in-person gatherings in 2023!
Only a few days left until Christmas and we hope you’re spending time with your loved ones and doing whatever makes you happy. 😌 We’re celebrating to remind ourselves of our purpose and to give thanks for the many blessings of the year. 🥂 Here’s to more feats in our learning journey! Cheers! 🍾
